Dr. William B. Ahern is our Greenville College Campus Ambassador and a Professor Emeritus of Biology at Greenville College. Dr. Ahern has 42 years of college teaching experience, including 32 years as Biology Department Chair. Areas of special interest and emphasis included: Parasitology, Invertebrate Zoology, Microbiology, introductory course in Ornithology and Environmental Science.
Dr. Ahern served nine years on the Faculty Advisory Board of AuSable Institute of Environmental Studies in Mancelona, Michigan, as well as seven years on the Mennonite School of Nursing (Bloomington, IL) Faculty Advisory Board. He was responsible for leading in the development of the Ayers Science Field Station located on 140 acres, four miles north of the Greenville College campus. Dr. Ahern has been an integral part of the Zahniser Institute since its inception.
